The conference centre is a stand alone building in the grounds of Carmichael Guesthouse -  at no. 11 Wolmunster rd. Upper Rosebank, Cape Town.   It has an intimate and cosy atmosphere, and is set in a quiet garden under shady oak trees. There is a private patio, where we serve teas, lunches, drinks and snacks when the weather permits, otherwise meals are served in the bistro in the guesthouse. There is secure parking behind electronic gates and ample, safe street parking.

The conference room is especially suited for small groups and can accommodate 22 delegates in a U shape or boardroom
layout  -  OR  -  25 maximum in theatre style. The conference room is air conditioned and heated.

As standard conference equipment, we provide: TV and  VCR, overhead projector and angled screen, laser pointer, white board and flip charts and all stationary for the aforementioned. Data projector or other specialised equipment can be hired in at extra cost.

The conference package includes use of venue and all standard equipment and stationery facilities, tea and coffee on arrival, mid morning tea and coffee - with scones or muffins, mid afternoon tea and coffee, 2 course lunch - main course, salads, farm breads, fresh juice
and dessert. Special meals are provided by arrangement for Halaal or vegetarian.

On the slopes of Devil's Peak lies a rare gem of a home, Carmichael House. Set high up in a leafy avenue, below Rhodes Memorial, Carmichael House is a beautifully preserved, well-restored example of the finest Victorian Cape architecture. The gleaming wooden floors and original Victorian fireplaces add warmth and ambience, while the modern en-suite bedrooms are well equipped and fan-cooled to ensure your comfort. Carmichael House is situated on the slopes of Devil's Peak.

Carmichael House is within walking distance of the University of Cape Town and close to Rhodes Memorial, Kirstenbosch Gardens, Groote Schuur Hospital and Newlands Rugby & Cricket Grounds.

Nearby Golf Courses include Mowbray and Rondebosch Golf Courses. The commercial centres of Rondebosch and Claremont are a few kilometers away and the city centre and airport are only 15 minutes drive via easily accessible freeways.

There are 6 en-suite bedrooms, all individually decorated with impeccable taste. A 2-roomed suite has its own lounge leading to a private balcony.

Some of the rooms can accommodate up to 3 children sharing with their parents.

A full English breakfast and Continental buffet is served in the sunny bistro.

If the weather is fine, breakfast may also be served outdoors in the secluded garden with its wonderful views.

Directions to Conference Venue
From Main Road, Mowbray: Wolmunster Road runs into Main Road, between the Baxter Theatre and Shoprite/Checkers in Mowbray.

From Cape Town: Take the M3 Muizenberg, exit at Mowbray turnoff (at Mostert's Mill). Take the 1st right into Cecil Road, then 1st left into Wolmunster Road.

From Southern Suburbs: Take the M3 City, exit at Rondebosch/Mowbray offramp. Drive down to Main Road (Baxter Theatre on the Right). Turn left into Main Road, then 4th left into Wolmunster Road.
