Maylodge hosts, Clive and Viv, extend a warm welcome inviting
you to share the beauty and uniqueness of Hogsback - you leave
it but it never leaves you. Privately situated, self catering
cottages accommodation in an acclaimed, tranquil, park like garden
which are well equipped and tastefully furnished with a rustic
aire. All linen is provided and the cottages are serviced daily.
Check in time is from 1pm and check out time is by 10:30am. I
f you do not wish to self cater daily, various eating venues are
available close by (for some, bookings are essential).
For the not so active - a complete relaxing getaway.
Aromatherapy treatments by appointment.
Seasons are experienced here highlighted with autumn hues, snow
in winter and a burst of spectacular flowers in spring.
Gardens are open to the public during October.
There are scenic hiking trails with cascading waterfalls.
Bird watching is also an often pursued activity on the Hogsback.
Directions to accommodation
From Gauteng/Bloemfontein to Maylodge
From Bloemfontein take the N6 to Aliwal North.
Cotinue to Queenstown then to Cathcart.
Just outside Cathcart turn right at the Fort Beaufort sign.
Continue for about 2km and turn left onto the gravel road at the
Hogsback sign.
Continue for about 50km.
Turn left at the fork and continue on the main road through Hogsback
for about 5km.
Turn right into Dinwiddie Lane. This lane leads you straight into
Maylodge Property.
From Natal or East London Airport to Maylodge
Take the N2 to King Williams Town
Turn left at the 2nd robot.
Continue through the 4 way stop and turn right into Buffalo Street
at the next robot.
Turn left at the 3rd robot.
Continue past the Engen station and turn right after the bridge.
Continue for about 50km.
Turn right at the the Cathcart via Hogsback sign.
Continue for 30km.
Turn left into Dinwiddie Lane. This lane leads you straight into
Maylodge Property.
From the Western Cape, Garden Route and Port Elizabeth
to Maylodge
Outside Grahamstown, turn left at the Fort Beaufort sign.
Continue through Fort Beaufort and Alice. Pass the University
of Fort Hare.
About 3km further, turn left at the Cathcart via Hogsback sign.
Continue for 30km.
Turn left into Dinwiddie Lane. This lane leads you straight into
Maylodge Property.
