A Country Hotel set in true African scenic splendour, with a wealth of history dating back to the 1850’s. With the Greater Addo Elephant National Park on it’s doorstep, Zuurberg Mountain Inn has become a preferred destination. Zuurberg is less than an hour’s drive from Port Elizabeth. "Zuurberg Mountain Inn, where Paradise begins!" Zuurberg Mountain Inn is a heaven of historical delight set high up on the Zuurberg, overlooking the Addo Elephant National Park. This mountain retreat was once a stage- coach to the main route to the Kimberley and Johannesburg. Diamond and gold diggers, as well as big game hunters used the old pass.
Established in 1861, Zuurberg not only survived the Boer War and seven Frontier Wars but also natural disasters such as the great fire in 1902, after which the Hotel was the restored to its former glory.

Manor House:
Victorian bedrooms in the Manor House are furnished in keeping with the ambience of the establishment. High ceilings, old-fashioned bathtubs and roof fans create the ambience for comfortable living, while guests indulge themselves in nostalgia. Modern conveniences have been unobtrusively installed, so as not to intrude on the atmosphere of an era past. Lovely verandas in a garden setting are added for outside relaxation.
