EGWENI, “place of the Vaal River”
in the indigenous Zulu Tongue, is situated in the beautiful town
of Parys, in South Africa’s Free State Province. As the
name describes Egweni is along the banks of the mighty Vaal River.
It is only 110km south of Johannesburg and with the friendly owners,
a warm atmosphere and fresh flowers, a warm welcome awaits you.
Egweni is the ideal breakaway weekend venue, stopover on business
trips or conference venue. EGWENI is a farm-style, architecturally
designed bed and breakfast and conference venue establishment.
It provides stylish accommodation, which presently consists of
5 double rooms, 2 single rooms and a family unit. Each unit is
an individually decorated luxury suite all furnished and decorated
with your comfort in mind. The tasteful décor, good service
and its view over the beautiful Vaal River with its breathtaking
rapids, creates a relaxed ambience in which you can completely
unwind. Egweni’s natural beauty is complemented by 4 state-of-the-art
conference facilities. These 4 conference rooms can comfortably
accommodate groups from 6 – 80 delegates in various seating
configurations.
Accommodation Facilities
The Flower Cottage
Room 1 (single room)
Natal Bush Lily or Clivia Mineata. En-suite bathroom with shower.
Room 2 (single room)
Wild Iris or Dietes grandiflora. En-suite bathroom with shower.
Room 3 (family unit)
River Lily or Crinum Macowanii. This self catering unit can accommodate
up to five people. The bedroom has a double bed with en suite
bathroom with a bath and shower. The lounge has a built-in single
bed and a sleeper couch. The kitchen consists of a double door
fridge; hotplate; microwave oven; kettle; bread toaster; crockery
and cutlery.
Room 4 (double room)
Agapanthus. In this room we have two single beds and the bathroom
only has a shower.
The Countries Cottage
Room 5 (Scottish room)
This room has two single beds that can be converted into a king
size bed. In the bathroom the shower has a skylight.
Room 6 (Mexican room)
The décor in this room was inspired by a beautiful cupboard
that was brought all the way from Mexico. The bathroom has a huge
shower.
Room 7 (Zen room)
The ambience of this room is definitely very minimalistic and
very appealing to our guests. A portrait by the artist Irma van
Rooyen lead to the inspiration of this room.
Room 8 (Indian room)
Very Indian … with a tongue in the cheek!!!!! The shower
has a skylight.
