Overnight in the scenic town of Ficksburg, at the gateway to the Maloti Mountians. Enjoy typical rural hospitality at our Guest House, centrally situated and only a five minute drive from the Lesotho border. Five Cottages and a rondawel are set in a tranquil private garden. The Green Acorn is famous for its lovely breakfasts that should keep you filled until dinnertime! We are willing to adapt to your likes and dislikes. All rooms are equipped with towels an electric kettle, tea, coffee and TV. Oil heaters and electric blankets are provided during the winter. Guests' cars may be parked on the property, and for security reasons, the gate is locked at night. Guests receive a gate key together with their room key for easy access to the property and to ensure security. There are two restaurants within walking distance from the guest house. Reservations can be made at your request. These are not open on Sunday evenings. An outside kitchen and braai (barbecue) place is available for guests who prefer to prepare their own meals. Braai packs can be arranged for you. Basotho Cultural dancing and singing in our Lapa can be arranged on request. Guided Tours to the Katse dam and various places of interest can be arranged.

Directions to accommodation
From Northern entrance (Bethlehem, Johannesburg, Durban):When you enter Ficksburg you will be in McCabe Street. Drive on until you get to the 3rd stop street and turn right into Fontein Street. The Green Acorn is about 50m further down on the left.

From the southern entrance (Clocolan, Bloemfontein): When you enter Ficksburg you will be in McCabe street.Drive on until you get to the 3rd stop street (police station on the right) and then turn left into Fontein street. The Green Acorn is about 50m down Fontein Street on the left.
