De Ou Waenhuis (the old wagon house) exclusive private farm and game lodge Graded FOUR crystals by SABS. Situated on Plumari Ranch, in the heart of the world-reknown Cradle of Humankind and less than one hour from Johannesburg or Sun City, De Ou Waenhuis provides a unique opportunity to experience history, wildlife and pure getaway bliss. Plumari Ranch (circa 5,000 acres) boasts a significant array of wildlife (including 3 of the big 5) and sits beneath the Magaliesburg mountain range providing a tranquil yet awe-inspiring setting.

With only 18 suites (each overlooking the Hippo pond) we can ensure intimate service and a unique family atmosphere. We like to call this the 'Plumari Experience'.

Our acclaimed on-site chapel and conference centre for up to 36 delegates allows the Plumari Experience to extend to weddings and business meetings/ events alike.

For those that wish to stimulate their minds, stroll amongst the historic memorabilia from stone age tools and caveman carvings found on Plumari Ranch to the perfectly restored ox wagons and amazing range of other 'goodies' from the 18/1900's we have found and collected over many years. We believe you will be astounded by our history "museum" and further, that we have the largest private ox wagon collection in the southern hemisphere.

For those that wish to stimulate their bodies, we offer our pool, game walks or a session with our beauty consultant. If more exercise or adrenaline is required, in close proximity there are options with anything from paint-balling, horse-riding, fishing to the world re-known Bill Harrop's hot-air ballooning.
