The Saffron House, in the heart of Salt Rock.
The Saffron house has been designed for your comfort and every
aspect of our guesthouse has been thoughtfully appointed and decorated.
It is a perfect place for both travelers and business persons
alike, located just 400m from the beach and 30mins from the vibrant
heart of Durban. Each of our four elegant en-suite, air conditioned
bedrooms have cool cotton percale linen, bath robes and private
entrance onto a patio area with access to the sparkling pool.
Each room is equipped with a mini bar, DStv
(satellite), complimentary tea and coffee and complimentary toiletries.
Relax in the spacious living areas with comfy sofa's and lots
of books,
where we won't crowd you or fuss. Our hospitality is genuine and
our guesthouse is run personally by us. Our guesthouse is your
home.
Walk to the protected swimming beach in less than five minutes
(400m) for a swim in the warm Indian Ocean. You can take a long
beach walk and stop for lunch at one of the local bars or restaurants.
We can organize dolphin boat rides which launch from the beach,
you can also watch dolphins from the beach and whales in season,
Quad biking, micro-light flights and deep sea fishing for you.
We will also arrange airport transfers and drop off collection
to and from local restaurants. There are local scuba companies
who organize regular wreck and reef dives. PADI & NAUI certification
courses are available. Visit the many heritage sites in the area
and learn about the Zulu culture and their king Shaka. The Kingdom
"three cultures in one estate" is right on our doorstep,
Shakaland is approx 1 hrs drive and the valley of a
thousand hills also approx 1 hour. Also perfect for business use
with 24 hour internet access. Close enough to Durban and Umhlanga
to be there in 30 mins. Our breakfast starts at 7.00am so you
won't have to rush. Enjoy Golf? We are just minutes from some
of South Africa's finest golf courses. Zimbali, Prince's Grant
and Mount Edgecombe. Forgotten your clubs? No problem we can arrange
hire for you.
Enjoy the dolphin coast all year round with average temperatures
between 18 degrees in winter to 25 degrees in summer and only
900mm of rain. We hope The Saffron House will be a place to remember

Directions to accommodation
Take N2 North Coast Highway and leave at Salt Rock off ramp junction
214 sign posted to "Salt Rock Road". Follow road to
Salt Rock for
2.2kms until you reach a left turn into Hugh Dent Drive. Follow
this for 0.7kms until you reach a left turn into Robbins Road.
Take this and The
Saffron House is number 15 on the right hand side.
