in KwazuluNatal and the Wild Coast Sun in Transkei. Surrounded
by lush tropical growth and indigenous trees frequently visited
by bushbuck and blue and grey duiker, the private and safe villa
offers beautiful and uninterrupted 180-degree sea horizon and
breaker views of the Indian Ocean. Whatch humpback whales lazing
slowly past or dolphins frolicking in the ocean from the bedroom,
kitchen, lounge or sundeck balcony with braai facility. Enjoy
the natural splendour of the sun rising over the ocean and Trafalgar
Marine Reserve or follow the full moon lining the ocean with amazing
silver pathways. Dolphin & Whale Villa is the ideal destination
for couples who want to enjoy all the attractions and activities
that the Hibiscus Coast offer, but want to withdraw at times to
a safe and private retreat away from the holidaying crowds. It
is also an ideal honeymoon destination and the perfect venue to

-- Ask your hosts for more information regarding scuba diving
(two of the finest dive sites in the world - Aliwal Shoal and
Protea Banks), protected surfing spots, various blue flag beaches,
angling (rock and surf) and deep sea charters, the butterfly sanctuary,
crocodile farm, golfing, arts and crafts and Amadiba Horse Adventures
and Horse Trails in Transkei. Don't miss the sardine run (June
- July each year) - a spectacular event exclusive to the Hibiscus
coast and Dolphin & Whale Villa's balcony is one of the best
viewing points. Theatres in the area include the Dinner Theatre
in Uvongo and Jazz events in Ramsgate. Dolphin & Whale Africa
Villa has a lock-up garage on the ground floor and a private entrance
leads up a staircase to a large balcony. A wall-to-wall sliding
door opens into the lounge and fully equipped custom-made kitchen.
The large bedroom offers views of the ocean through picture-frame
windows. Full bathroom with shower and bath. Linen and towels
supplied. Bring own towels for swimming. Refreshments for sale
at reception desk. Visit various nature reserves: MPENJATI a few
km from Dolphin & Whale Villa. Mpenjati means "the place
of the warring buffaloes" and offers a relaxing 3 km trail
winding along the north bank of the Mpenjati River through magnificent
forest scenery. There are picnic spots alongside the beautiful
lagoon. UMTAMVUNA at Port Edward offers a 25 km walk from the
sea along the Umtamvuna River. More trees are found here than
anywhere else in Southern Africa. Approximately 1 300 indigenous
flowering plants have been listed and
the area is also home of the Cape Vulture. SKYLINE BOTANICAL RESERVE
in Uvongo with most trees clearly listed. There are 400 exotic
plant species and walking trails. This is a birdwatcher's paradise.
ORIBI GORGE comprises 1 917 hectares and various walking trails,
some more strenuous than others, will lead you through cool natural
forests and grassland. Towering sandstone cliffs and rugged mountains
provide the adventurer with unforgettable memories. The reserve
is home to more than 500 bird species as well as a variety of
antelope, mammals and reptiles.
