The Kalahari is a vast, mysterious wilderness, were each new day dawns over breathtaking landscape, virtually unchanged for ten thousand years. The thornveld and sweeping sand dunes are home to some of the world’s most fascinating wildlife. Surrounding the rugged Korannaberg Mountains, Tswalu lies on the edge of this desert wilderness. Tswalu is the most extensive private game reserve in South Africa offering the excitement of a real Kalahari experience, where you can encounter the solitude and endless space of a timeless land. This 100 000 ha malaria free reserve is home to 12 000 head of game including many endangered species, such as the Desert Black Rhino, Sable and Roan Antelope, African Buffalo and Kalahari Lion. Guest activities include game drives, game walks, bird watching, astronomy, archaeology, horse riding, heated swimming pools and bush dining. Motse nestles at the foot of the Korannaberg Mountain Range facing westward across the grasslands of the Kalahari. Designed to blend inconspicuously into the mountain range, Motse is flanked by 9 exclusive suites, which are unique in design. Curved stone and desert sand walls are enclosed by organic shaped grass roofs, that dip to the ground providing shade and sculpted beauty. Tarkuni is set powerfully amid two rolling mountain ranges in its own private area of the reserve. It is available to families and small groups of up to 8 guests for the ultimate African experience in total privacy. Both have air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms with inside and outside showers.
