built on the edge of an ancient rock cliff. Only this breathtaking

Clifftop Lodge's unsurpassed luxury and elegance. Clifftop Lodge's
guests are accommodated in the pampered comfort and privacy of
eight superior air-condtioned suites each with their own private
deck, thatched sala and plunge pool. The main lodge consists of
inviting safari lounges and dining decks
surrounding a rimless swimming pool. The cuisine at Clifftop Lodge
is a superb fusion of African and Western flavours and our daily
menu will surpass the expectations of even the most discerning
diner. Our wine cellar's walls are adorned with premium wines
for the connoisseur.
The private boardroom at Clifftop ( complete with state -of- the-
art conference equipment) was specifically designed for top level
director/and or executive board meetings. Game drives at Clifftop
Lodge give all our guests the once in a lifetime opportunity of
a close and personal wildlife experience. The Welgevondon Game
Reserve's diverse habitats encourage a wide range of wildlife
to prosper within the reserve. With the grasslands come the plains
game such as the white rhino and various species of antelope,
zebra and wildebeest. The predators move stealthily through these
areas as well. In the wooded areas you will find the browsers
such as giraffe and kudu in addition to
elephant. The rocky cliffs and hillsides are the perfect home
to the solitary cats such as the leopard.
Directions to accommodation
FROM CENTRAL GAUTENG - Travel along the N1 in the direction of
Polokwane (Pietersburg. Go through the Pumulane and Carousel Toll
Stations. At the Kranskop Toll Station ( ensure that you keep
to one of the two left hand lanes) turn left on the R33 and travel
towards Modimolle (Nylstroom). Continue through Modimolle towards
Vaalwater. After leaving Vaalwater drive for 8 kms and then look
for the distinctive game fence of a luxury establishment on the
left hand side of the road. Follow this fence for 6kms and turn
left immediately as it ends onto the gravel road. Follow this
gravel road for plus/minus 10 kms until you reach the "East
Gate" entrance to the Welgevonden Game Reserve. Here you
will be met by the rangers of Clifftop. Your car will remain in
the allocated parking area at this gate for the duration of your
stay at Clifftop.
