Shibula Lodge and Bush Spa, a five star accredited
lodge in the Limpopo Province offers the discerning visitor African
in all its untamed magnificence, along with truly superb standards
of hospitality. Superbly situated close to the best game viewing
areas of the 36 000 hectare private Welgevonden game reserve in
the Limpopo Province. Shibula Lodge hugs the banks of a scenic
river and has magnificent views of the overhanging cliffs, where
the antics of the resident baboon troop entertain guests.This
malaria-free reserve, where the big five (Lion, Rhino, Buffalo,
Elephant and Leopard) roam freely, is home to an extraordinary
diversity of plant and animal life, as well as more than 350 species
of birds, with access to the entire 36 000 ha reserve which forms
part of a bigger 100 000 ha game reserve.

Unit no 3a is wheelchair friendly and has a fireplace.
3 units are next to each other in one building and have less privacy
than the 4 suites and luxury chalets.
These units are priced at lower rates than the luxury units and
are for the more price conscious bush lover.

Directions to accommodation
Take the N1 from Pretoria to Polokwane (Pietersburg)
There are three tollgates to take into consideration:
The first, Pumulanie Tollgate
The second, the Carousel Tollgate
The third, Kranskop Tollgate
At the third tollgate (Kranskop Plaza) use the left gate and proceed
on the R33 to Modimolle (Nylstroom)
Go straight through Modimolle (Nylstroom) towards Vaalwater. This
is about 60km.
Pass straight through Vaalwater. Do not turn off anywhere.
Please DO NOT take the right turn (R33) to Lephalale (Ellisras)
at the Spar Supermarket/Total Garage, keep straight on the Thabazimbi
road.
Please DO NOT take the Bakkerspas (Welgevonden South Gate) turn
off - Keep going straight on the Thabazimbi road.
Please DO NOT take the Welgevonden East Gate turn off - Keep on
going straight on the Thabazimbi road.
Welgevonden Main Gate will be on your left hand side coming from
Vaalwater. The Welgevonden Main Gate is +- 25km, 15 minutes from
Vaalwater. Look out for the Tourist Information board on your
left hand side informing you about the Welgevonden Main Gate.
The Welgevonden Main Gate sign is on your left and once you've
turned off it's 500m to the Gate itself.
Total km from Pretoria is approximately 210km
