The Sangasava Mission is to provide above average,
rustic comfortable accommodation at an affordable price to middle-income
South Africans and budget conscious foreign travellers. Sangasava
is a small self-catering bush lodge situated on the banks of the
Olifants River within the Balule Nature Reserve approximately 45
kilometres from Hoedspruit and an hour's drive from the Phalaborwa
Gate into the Kruger National Park. The quite bush ambience together
with the sound of the river as it slowly meanders by, makes it the
idyllic setting as therapy to the hectic life of the concrete jungle.
Relaxation is the order of the day, but should the urge take you,
you could do a bit of bird watching, tree spotting, game spotting
or a guided nature walk. Sangasava is also ideal for those travellers
on their way to the Kruger National Park as a stopover, as a base
to explore the surrounding area or for day trips into the Kruger
National Park. Sangasava has the recipe to provide that long needed
breakaway from the hardships of everyday city life; the only ingredients
missing are you, your clothes, food and liquid refreshments. Accommodation
currently consists of a large rondaval (Kambaku), a stone cottage
(Shingwedzi) and a small rondaval (Emhosheni Guest Rondaval). All
units have a river view.
Kambaku has 2 bedrooms and a loft room, sleeping up to 8 people.
Shingwedzi has 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6 people.
Emhosheni has 1 bedroom, sleeping 2 people.
Kambaku and Shingwedzi are adjacent buildings 40m apart and Emhosheni
is approximately 600m away on a neighbouring property.All units
are fully serviced and equipped with crockery, cutlery, bedding
and towels.Kambaku and Shingwedzi each have a small stove, fridge
/ freezer, microwave and hot and cold running water. The bathroom
in each unit has a bath with shower, basin and flush toilet.Emhosheni
has a small stove, fridge, microwave and hot and cold running
water. The bathroom has a shower, basin and flush toilet.Each
bedroom is equipped with a ceiling fan.All units have braai facilities.
Directions to accommodation
From Hoedspruit
Travel north on the R40. Turn right onto a dirt road signposted
Parsons 155KT which is approximately 25km from Hoedspruit. Follow
the main graded dirt road approx. 14km.
From Phalaborwa
Travel south on the R530. Turn left onto a dirt road signposted
Parsons 155KT which is approximately 35km from Phalaborwa. Follow
the main graded dirt road approx. 14km.
From Tzaneen
Travel east on the R71 to Gravelotte. The R71 continues left here,
but you must continue straight on and you will find yourself on
the R40. Turn left at a T-junction approximately 35km from Gravelotte.
Turn right, almost immediately, onto a dirt road signposted Parsons
155KT. Follow the main graded dirt road approx. 14 km.
Sangasava is Number 20 of Parsons 155KT.
