Lesheba is a magical wilderness set in a forgotten
valley in the ancient Soutpansberg. Accommodation is in the Venda
Village Lodge, a magnificent sculptured world created by renowned
artist Noria Mabasa.
Climb above the clouds and walk with the rhino along well-marked
trails meandering through wide open plains, lush bush and down
spectacular gorges with clear rock pools. Alternatively, indulge
in the ultimate bush experience, the most delicious bath in Africa.
Lesheba is a living gallery, a work of art, a wonderland of African
design, art and style.
Internationally acclaimed Venda artist, Noria Mabasa, has created
the extraordinary Venda Village. It is a living gallery of her
works and overlooks Dulini Valley. There is a luxury outdoor bathroom
with sculptured
figureheads and a view over the plains below. This camp sleeps
9 pax.
Escape to your own private hideaway in two new luxury suites
Mwedzi (Moon) and Duvha (Sun) offering every luxury that you may
desire, either fully catered or self-catering.
Facilities:
Central living area, outdoor bath & shower, small kitchenettes
in the suites and central village areas, candlelight and kerosene
lamps to light the night and add romance, each suite has a private
plunge pool.
Activities:
Open vehicle game drives, walks (guided and non-guided) including
10 marked trails from 2-5 hours walking time, picnics, stargazing,
bush dining, rock art sites.
What to take:
Walking shoes, sun hat, sunglasses, sunblock, cameras, binoculars,
light clothing and swimming costumes in summer and in winter warm
clothing and jackets
Climate:
Summer (October - March). Rainy season: hot days, warm nights.
Temperatures 25 - 38 degrees centigrade.
Winter (April - September). Dry season: generally warm days, cold
nights.
Temperatures 5 - 25 degrees centigrade.
Children:
Preferably no children under the age of 12 (due to the nature
of the artworks in and around the camp and the drop off from the
outdoor entertainment areas) but exceptions will be made on request.
Hamasha camp
allows children of all ages.
Directions to accommodation
N1 North - pass Pholokwane and on to Makhado (Louis Trichardt (Makhado))
Turn onto R522 and travel for 36kms. Turn right and follow directions.
