Waters Edge has been a family beach house belonging to the same family since the late 1800’s. The original cottage was built in the latter part of the nineteenth century and renovated in 1910. During the Boer War , boer prisoners were held in a camp above the town and it was not unusual to find British army soldiers knocking on the door asking to look for escapees under beds! In the early years, the large green field attached to the house housed a cow to serve the family with fresh milk. Generations of children belonging to the same family have played on the secure beach and fished along the rocks and they still do today. Generations of adults have sat in the tranquillity of the verandah, casting aside the cares of their busy lives as they drink in one of the most beautiful views False Bay has to offer. Located in the suburb of Seaforth to the south of the naval town of Simon’s Town, it is Waters Edge’s proximity to the sea that makes it unique in the area, if not the whole of the Cape Peninsula. The front gate opens directly onto the beach, and from the veranda, the views are endless - across False Bay to the Tygerberg Hills in the north and to the Helderberg Mountains in the east. On most days residents at Waters Edge share the semi-public beach with others from 10am to 5pm. As there is now no public parking along the access road to the house, most of those who visit the beach are residents living in the area.

Directions to Accommodation
Make way to Simons Town on the Cape Peninsula. Drive through the town and turn down left into Seaforth Road. At the bottom, right into Kleintuin Road and at the end of the road, sharp left into the property.
