Knysna Gardens Hotel ( Hotel Accommodation
in Knysna / Garden Route / South Africa )
Where the Indian Ocean meets the Knysna River and nature abounds;
where time and tide wait to fill your day and gently lap you to
sleep at night... that's where you'll find the Knysna Gardens
Hotel.
Within metres of the rippling waters of the Knysna Lagoon - in
the Knysna National Park - the Knysna Gardens Hotel is surrounded
by the natural fynbos and indigenous forests of Madiba's Tide
Nature Reserve.
And with grace and beauty, old-style luxury, excellent service,
great cuisine and easy access to the many attractions, outdoor
adventures and fine golf courses of South Africa's Garden Route
coast, the Knysna Gardens Hotel will ensure that your stay is
as relaxing - or as active - as you want.
The Knysna Gardens Hotel has been awarded four-star grading by
the South African Tourism Grading Council - a prestigious title
which perfectly reflects our philosophy. As a privately-owned
hotel, we focus on you, our guest: an individual with individual
needs. And we do everything possible to ensure that you'll enjoy
a comfortable stay and memorable experiences.
The Hotel - including the original German-Colonial style farm
house - has recently been completely revamped so that modern convenience
meets old world charm in our presidential suites and luxury rooms,
gourmet restaurant and comfortable lounge.
From lavender-lined walkways to oak-covered terrace - it's easy
to get lost in the calm of our gardens. Appropriately positioned
in the Garden Route - South Africa's floral paradise - and set
within the 27 hectare Madiba's Tide Nature Reserve, the gardens
of the Knysna Gardens Hotel provide a clean, manicured contrast
to the natural forest and fynbos of the area.
Explore forest walks, go birding on the banks of the Knysna Lagoon
in the Knysna National Park or let your mind wander as you meander
though our classical labyrinth.
That's the beauty of the Knysna Gardens Hotel. So close to all
the attractions of Knysna; and far enough away to allow you to
relax and rejuvenate in the bounty of nature.
The Madiba Presidential Suite
Named in honour of South Africa's first democratic President,
Nelson Mandela, our most prestigious suite overlooks the calm
waters of the Knysna Lagoon in the Knysna National Park. It's
a spacious apartment with an open feel and is supplied with all
the luxuries you'd expect.
The Garden Presidential Suite
Positioned on ground level, this apartment suite opens onto a
private patio where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of our
well-maintained gardens and of the Knysna Lagoon in the Knysna
National Park. It's sunny and spacious, comfortable and romantic
- and, of course, it's totally private.
The Rose Luxury Suite
A private suite with a warm atmosphere, the Rose Suite overlooks
the Knysna Lagoon in the Knysna National Park.
The Tartan Luxury Suite
With it's traditional Scots decor, this comfortable suite is a
perfect place for enjoying single malt whiskeys while watching
the African sun set over the Outeniqua Mountains. Well proportioned
and beautifully positioned, The Tartan Suite overlooks the indigenous
forest of the Madiba's Tide Nature Reserve.
The Tree Luxury Suite
Built around the trunk of a blackwood tree, this suite opens onto
a traditional and intricate labyrinth in the gardens of the Knysna
Gardens Hotel. It's a place for relax and soaking up the calm
of the Garden Route.
The Duck Luxury Suite
This suite overlooks our Duck Pond and enjoys views of the indigenous
forest - and it's only a short walk from our guests' lounge and
tea terrace.
The Ethnic Luxury Suite
Freestanding and quiet, this suite has views across the forests
to the Knysna Lagoon in the Knysna National Park - and enjoys
direct access to our Duck Pond and Labyrinth. The Ethnic suite
has been decorated in an African theme to add local flavour to
your stay.
The Fir Luxury Room
Stately and comfortable with a large lounge and spacious bedroom,
The Fir is secluded and ideal for private getaways. Dramatic views
of the Knysna Lagoon in the Knysna National Park make it perfect
on romantic evenings.
The Guinea Fowl Luxury Room
The energetic, spotted guinea fowl inspired the décor of
this luxury room and gives it a fun, trendy feel. The Guinea Fowl
Luxury Room opens onto a private balcony with spectacular views:
guests should look out for the wildlife living in the forest below.
The Teal Luxury Room
Named after a small fresh water duck found in the Garden Route,
it's very likely that you'll see a plethora of bird life from
the balcony of The Teal Luxury Room - which overlooks the indigenous
forest and fynbos of Madiba's Tide Nature Reserve.
The Sunbird Luxury Room
Watching the delicate Sunbirds as they collect nectar from the
wild forest flowers is a gift - and many brightly coloured Sunbirds
visit our gardens to put on their beautiful display almost every
day of the year. Look out for them from the large windows of the
Sunbird Luxury Room.
The Loerie Luxury Room
The Knysna Loerie is one of the most beautiful of South Africa's
indigenous birds. Its deep green colour camouflages it well -
but as it flies, the bright red flashes under its wings give it
away in an instant. Watch these majestic birds - which are so
closely associated with Knysna - as they glide between the trees
of the indigenous forest outside the window of the Loerie Luxury
Room.
The Kingfisher Luxury Room
Taking it's name from the regal kingfisher which is often seen
in our area, this freestanding unit boats an upstairs bathroom
with impressive views across the Knysna Lagoon in the Knysna National
Park and the indigenous forest of Madiba's Tide Nature Reserve.
The downstairs living area is ergonomic and comfortable in its
design - and the feel of wood adds the flavour of luxury to this
suite.
