Directions to accommodation
To reach Buchu Bushcamp from Cape Town.
Take the N2 from Cape Town to Caledon, drive through Caledon
and then continue on the R316 to Bredasdorp, via Napier. At the
third 4-way stop street in Bredasdorp turn left into All Saints
Street, and travel approximately 8km on the R319 to Swellendam.
Turn right onto the gravel road to Wydgelee, Infanta, Malgas and
De Hoop. Travel for approximately 40 km until you reach the Buchu
Bushcamp sign board. Turn right and travel over the limestone
hills for ± 8 km to the next Buchu sign, at the main gate
of the De Hoop Nature Reserve. Turn right and follow the track,
drive through the gate, and follow the sign to the Bushcamp.
To reach Buchu Bushcamp from the George / Port Elizabeth
direction.
Take the N2 to Swellendam. Bypass Swellendam, cross the Breede
River Bridge. One km after the bridge take the gravel road turning
to the left, signposted Malgas / Infanta. Continue on this road
for 24km, and then take the Y- junction road to the right, signposted
De Hoop Nature Reserve. This road comes to a T-junction; you are
now at Ouplaas. Turn right and drive 4km to the big Buchu Bushcamp
signboard. Turn left and continue for ± 8km over the limestone
hills to the next Buchu sign, at the main gate of the De Hoop
Nature Reserve. Turn right and follow the track, drive through
the gate, and follow the sign to the Bushcamp.
