Oewerzicht farm has seven cottages. Bergzicht
and Welgeleë are semi-detached and was the original farmhouse.Bergzicht
is a one-bedroom cottage with a kitchen and a living room while
Welgeleë also has one bedroom, a living room with two beds
and a kitchen. Both Bergzicht and Welgeleë have inside as
well as outside braai facilities and are decorated with old original
cottage style furniture.They are set on the edge of the citrus
orchard and about 50 m from the river. Uitzicht are four freestanding
cottages set next to each other about 300 m from the river on
a hill with spectacular mountain views.
Directions to accommodation
Go onto the N2 towards Caledon . Turn left from the N2 about 2
km before you get to Caledon on the Greyton Genadendal R406 road.
Follow the R406 for about 30 km in to Greyton. Turn right at the
second four way stop in DS Botha St and carry on straight out
of Greyton on the Riviersonderend Road . Turn right about 1 km
out of Greyton at the Krige N2 turnoff. Carry on straight for
about 3.8 km and when the road forks keep left and then it's another
5 km to Oewerzicht Farm. Reception is at the Yellow double story
house on the right hand side of the road.
Accommodation Facilities
Each cottage has two bedrooms with double beds, one bathroom,
an open plan kitchen with inside braai facilities. The cottages
are fully equipped with all essential appliances (fridge, microwave,
toaster, kettle, oven, ect). Towels and linen are provided. Oewerzicht
is a fully operational farm with apples, pears, grapes or citrus
available from January till June. The rest of the 600ha farm consists
of rolling wheat lands, lots of cattle and a herd of Reebok. Birdwatchers
will also be delighted to see, amongst others, blue cranes, secretary
birds and large flocks of guinea fowl. You are of course free
to hike all over the farm, or bring your mountain bikes along
to enjoy the farm. We also have tractor tubes, 'foefie' slide
and a canoe available to use on the river and do not forget your
fishing rods
